Adding products for product-backward tracing
Adding products for product-backward tracing
Updated over 10 months ago

In order to trace a product backwards until its raw-material origin, we must first define our Output Products in the 'Products' Tab.

As a foundation to Order tracing, the first and foremost step is to add the products you want to trace.

How to create products?

  1. Click on the 'Products' tab in the navigation bar on the left. Click on 'Add New' and add the product's information including Product Name, Product Level and Product Type. TIP: If you have many, you can also bulk upload your products! To learn about our Product Import Wizard click here.

  2. Scroll down to fill in the product information and make sure the 'Story' is inactive and toggled off.

  3. Fill in the following product details that are mandatory to proceed with order tracing: Product Details, Attributes, Material Composition and Variations (for same product with multiple SKUs, in case of products with different colorways). Other product information fields are optional.

💡 Filling in product details under point C. Bill of Material and F. Supply Chains is not required.

In case you forgot to create your products before beginning to place orders...

No worries. You can also create products on-the-fly within the order tracing feature itself:

  1. While creating a new order, once you are at the second stage, the 'Add order details' page, click on the 'Create new product' and fill in the product information.

  2. Hit 'Create Product' when you're done to automatically link it with the order and proceed.
