Introduction to Order Tracing

Navigate the complexity of your supply chain by collaborating on the Order tracing feature. It enables you to trace back your product to the Raw Material origin and step-up your sustainability Management. Win-Win for all the participants.

In this article, you will learn the basics of using the Cascade tracing view on the platform. This feature can be used for the following:

  1. You can place a Purchase Order (PO) with your Suppliers and manage PO Documentation.

  2. Receive a Sales Order (SO) from your client and fulfill the requirement of your Buyer.

  3. View the Tracing Map and monitor the results, with your direct suppliers and share the information easily with your Buyer.


Hope we could get you excited about starting tracing on the retraced platform. Before moving forward we would like to consider the following:

Pre-requisites to Order Tracing

It is important to note that, there are certain pre-requisites to the order tracing feature, to use it in an optimal manner:

  1. You have built your Network on the 'NETWORK' Tab on the side menu by inviting your suppliers on the platform.

  2. The connected company has at least one user. This will send a notification to the user when they receive an SO.

  3. Create Components to place purchase orders to your suppliers.

IMPORTANT: Ensure the above laid out prerequisites for a successful Order tracing. To learn more about how to 'Find, Add and Unlink companies' and Add 'Product Information for Order Tracing'


Sales-, Purchase- and Internal Order Tab

In this section, let's have a look at all the different Tabs of this feature:

Sales Order Tab

Under this tab, you can find the list of all the Sales orders that your client wants you to fulfill. Once you receive a Sales order, you can access it through the Sales order tab, or through an email notification.

Purchase Order Tab

Under the Purchase Order tab, you will have a list of Purchase orders you place with your suppliers. Once you generate a new Purchase order, your supplier will receive a notification via email.

Internal Order

Under the Internal Orders Tab, you will have a list of internal orders you place within your own facility process


Order Tracing Table View

When you click on 'Purchase order' or 'Sales Order' you will have a list of all the orders placed/received.

  • Order Docs Completion: Indicates the number of docs due to complete tracing

  • Tracing Depth: Indicates how far the product is traced in supply chain

  • Tracing File Completing: Percentage of tracing file completed

  • Status: You can set the status for a particular product tracing under the 'Status' column

  • Custom Tags: You can also set 'Custom Tags' while creating orders and they will appear here.

  • Link SO/ Link PO: Link with an existing PO or SO depending on the tab you are
