Access documents of companies in your network

Learn how to view documents uploaded by your suppliers and other companies in your network.

Need to check a document that one of your suppliers or other network partners has uploaded? For example, as a tier 1 supplier, you may need to see the certificates or policies of your own tier 2 suppliers. Here’s how.

Option 1: Via the company profile

  1. Go to Network in the left menu.

  2. Search for the company and click its name to open its profile.

  3. Open the Documents tab and click a document name to view it.

Option 2: Via Vendor Compliance → Documents

  1. Go to Vendor Compliance → Documents.

  2. Use the filter to find the company.

Request access to documents you can’t open yet

Some companies keep their documents private. You can’t open these documents yet, but you can see that they exist and ask for access.

Go to Vendor Compliance → Documents and open the Request Access tab. It lists the documents of companies in your network that haven’t been shared with you. For each document, you can see the company, its facility processes, the document type and when it was last updated. The document name stays hidden (***) until you get access.

  1. Find the document you need. Use the filters to narrow the list down by Company, Document Name or Document Type.

  2. Click the lock icon in the Actions column.

  3. In the Request access? dialog, click Request access to send your request.

After you send a request, the lock icon changes to an X icon. This shows that your request is waiting for approval.

The company that owns the document is notified by email and under Your active tasks on their dashboard, and decides whether to share the document with you. Once they approve your request, the document is shared with you and you can open it from the Documents tab.

Cancel a request

Changed your mind? You can cancel a request as long as it hasn’t been approved yet.

  1. On the Request Access tab, click the X icon in the Actions column of the document.

  2. In the Cancel request? dialog, click Cancel request.

The X icon changes back to a lock icon, and you can send a new request at any time.

Good to know: If a company archives a document, it’s hidden from everyone else in their network, so you can no longer see or request it. It becomes visible again if the company unarchives it.
