Retraced has five certificate types. They work either on company level or on product level.
Company level
Memberships, for example Fair Wear, Bluesign System Partner, Leather Working Group, Better Cotton Initiative
Company certificates, for example SA8000, ISO 50001, B Corporation, STeP by Oeko-Tex
Scope certificates, for example GOTS, GRS, RCS, Fairtrade Textile Standard, Cotton made in Africa
Product level
Transaction certificates, for example GOTS, GRS, RCS, Fairtrade Textile Standard, Cotton made in Africa
Product certificates, for example Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Blue Angel, Grüner Knopf, Leather Standard by Oeko-Tex
A scope certificate confirms that your company can produce according to a standard. A transaction certificate (TC) confirms that the specific goods you delivered meet that standard. That’s why most scope standards also have a transaction certificate.
If your customer requests TCs from you through Certified Materials, see How to respond to requests and upload TC documents.
Which type should I choose when uploading?
You don’t need to choose the type yourself. When you upload a certificate, you
select the standard, and the list is already sorted by level.
How do I know if a company meets the standard’s requirements?
After you choose the company and the standard, a message at the top of the dialog tells you whether the company meets the standard’s requirements.
You can still upload the certificate if the requirements aren’t met. Our team will review it and may give you tips on how to meet them.
Looking for a specific standard? Find its type and a short description in the Certificate directory.
