The tagging of your retraced products with QR codes is a very common form to reach offline customers and share your product story with them.
When selling the product to end consumers online or in store, the product is equipped with a readable QR code, which leads after scanning to the product journey. The scanning is typically done with a smartphone (of any kind, even back to 2009). 📲
What are the prerequisites for QR code tagging?
The following must be done so you can actually start tagging in our system:
You have at least one product on the platform.
- The product is linked with a supply chain.
'Story Active?' for the product is toggled on.
How to get the QR code for my product?
- Click on the 'Products' tab in the left navigation bar.
- Click on the product name for which you would like to generate a QR code.
- Click on the 'QR Code' tab.
- Click on the 'Generate QR code' button.
Upon scanning the QR code, you will be redirected to the product journey, be given a short product description, and the product's badges.
How to attach the QR tags to products?
Once you have QR codes, the next step is to attach them to your products. This can be done in several ways. The following are the most common scenarios:
Printed directly into the fabric
Put on a placeholder hang tag
Printed on a hang tag which is attached to the product
Put onto a box or package where the product is placed into
How to verify the process?
Once a tag has been scanned and is registered successfully, test it by simply using your phone camera and scanning the QR code. Your phone will prompt you if you want to open the browser to inspect the product's journey. 🗺️
How much do QR codes cost?
We can provide an excel sheet with an arbitrary amount of valid QR codes free of charge. The printing and quality assurance is then your responsibility. You can, of course, also create the codes yourself and also handle the printing.
