Renew an expired certification

A step-by-step guide on how to renew a certificate that has expired.

Updated over a week ago

Certificates on the Retraced platform follow a traffic-light system, which means you will be signalled on which certificates need your urgent attention in case a certificate approaches the expiry date. The certificates will be indicated with red or yellow 'Renew' buttons. Click on it and follow a few simple steps to renew your certificates.

How to renew an (almost) expired certificate?

  1. Go to the 'Certifications' tab in the navigation bar.

  2. Click on the 'Renew' Button for expired or shortly expiring certifications. Please ensure that the certification and company you want to renew and upload to are correct.

  3. Attach the certificate file by either pulling it into the field or by browsing through your computer database. Please be aware: that the maximum size of the file is 100MB.

  4. Click the 'Link & Continue' button.

  5. Then, input the certification details. Fill out all applicable fields that you can retrieve from the certificate, including the document and license number, issue and expiration date, and details of Issuing Body (E.g. Control Union, BV, TÜV, Elevate).

  6. Click the 'Renew Certificate' button for us to review it for approval. We do this manually to ensure information is correct and meets the requirements for it to be shown to end consumers. Once approved, the certificate will be visible under the 'Certifications' tab in the navigation bar.

💡After updating a certification, expired versions are automatically stored in Versions History, found on the respective certification page below Claim Details and Other Active Versions.
